What formats are available for download?

All images are vinyl-cutter ready, available in EPS, AI, and SVG formats, and wholly welded for single color vinyl cutting.

What does “optimized” mean?

Our vinyl-ready images are especially prepared for vinyl cutting, which means no open paths, no intersecting objects, no overlaps, and no crossed lines. We have optimized, or reduced the point number in our vector images, to ensure a faster, smoother cut. 

How do I unzip a folder?

To unzip the main file once it's saved on your hard drive, just go to START-EXPLORE and find your zipped file. Then right click on the folder and select "extract files". (Zipping a folder merely
condenses the size for quicker transmission time.) A new folder, with all the contents inside, is created. Then, delete the zipped folder.

Open your vinyl cutter software and IMPORT, NOT OPEN, the individual files from this new folder in your software. Then resize and cut!

How do I know what designs are in a collection and which ones are not?

1- When you open a category and look to the right of each picture, you will see what collection that design is housed in, if any.  The number "888" means that it is a loose design.

2- When you type "888" in the subject search box, you will see the designs NOT housed in a collection.

3- When you type the following codes in the subject search box, you will see bigger images of all the designs in each collection:  #1... xxx; #2... yyy; #3... zzz; #4... sss; #5... uuu; #6... qqq; #7... ttt; Christmas1... 111; Christmas2... aaa.  A quick fingertip reference for finding what designs are grouped together.  Click here for all the collection downloads.

What should I do if my computer freezes and stops the cutter from cutting?  

Sometimes when our computer freezes during one of our bigger cuts, we just click "enter" on the keyboard and the "freeze" stops.  The simple click allows the remaining information to transmit to the cutter.  If this step does not fix your problem, you may want to contact the manufacturer directly.

What is welding, and why is this feature important in my cutter software?

Welding is a feature that allows you to take overlapping text or scripty fonts and combine or "weld" it into one object.  Otherwise, if overlapping text (like loopy l's or y's) were not welded together, the cutter would cut through the middle of the intersected lines.  It is a professional feature that makes vinyl letters easier to hang and remove.

If you do not wish to do your own design work, and merely want to use our designs or have us help you with custom work, then you will not need this feature.  But otherwise, this welding feature is almost a requirement for doing custom interior design work.  Your finished vinyl designs should hang like one great big sticker, all connected where they overlap.

May I use these vinyl-ready designs in my business?

We created this website for busy individuals who needed pre-designed images for vinyl cutting in the home or workplace. The images, as a finished product, may be used for personal or business use; however, our website, catalogs, vector artwork and design layouts are copywritten and forbidden to be sold in part or in whole, or recreated in and/or distributed in another digital format.  Please review our full copyright details in the copyrights section.

Who has the copyright for the quotes and sayings used?

We do not claim ownership of the quotes or sayings in our 1000+ Vinyl Quotes or in our vinyl-ready designs on the website. They are what we believe to be in the public domain for public use. However, if any are found to be copyrighted, they will be immediately removed.  Discontinued and/or replacement designs are announced in the LATEST NEWS section of our website.

How do I know which format works best on my vinyl cutter?

Most vinyl cutter softwares can import one of the formats we offer. Just download a freebie and IMPORT, NOT OPEN, the file in your software.  You'll quickly be able to determine which format works best in your software.

What if I can’t find my downloaded image or I accidentally delete the file?

Please contact us – we'll help in any way we can.

Is there anything else I need to know?

Yes -- My Vinyl Designer reserves the right to edit, change, or delete any information on this website, at any time, as needed. We also sell only what is believed to be a top quality, optimally prepared, vinyl-cutter-ready product. If at any time you see an adjusted same-catalog-number image that you previously purchased, you are welcome to request the adjusted file at no charge. If that adjusted image came in a collection you purchased, you may also request an updated catalog at no charge.
